Materials used

MDF: Stands for Medium Density Fiberboard. We use 5/8" thick MDF for the AlphaBetter Student Desk.
Very strong.

Kydex®:   A fire-, chemical-, and impact-resistant thermoplastic material which is vacuum-pressed over
                the MDF base. This combination provides the look of a more traditional school desk top.
                Custom colors available. Standard color is beige-toned.

Phenolic: A solid-surface plastic material. Provides a more modern, thin-lined look to the the desktop.
Extremely durable for high-activity areas. Black only.

Worksurface: Choice of either of two durable materials: 1) MDF covered
in Kydex® or 2) Phenolic .
Base: All steel. 1" W powder-coated steel for stability and durability.
Pendulum™ (patent pending) footrest bar: 5/8" steel tubing
